As per AU policy, candidates seeking admission in BS English must have passed the Intermediate examination from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan or an equivalent examination. Candidates with intradisciplinary qualifications are also eligible for admission to MBA, MS, and M.Phil programs, provided that the Departmental Admission Committee is satisfied with the candidate's foundational knowledge of the applied program. The assessment shall be based on the candidate's previous qualifications and ability to undertake Level-6 coursework.
Where deemed necessary, the candidate may be required to register in a Zero Semester and complete additional coursework of up to 09 Credit Hours (CH) as recommended by the Departmental Admission Committee.

The applicant is required to meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
Prior to admission into a PhD program, the student shall have been awarded an MS/MPhil or equivalent degree. Where necessary, the candidate may be admitted in a Zero Semester to clear deficient courses of 9–12 Credit Hours, as determined by the Departmental Admission Committee. Passing deficient courses with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 is mandatory within a maximum of two attempts. The Zero Semester shall not be counted towards the maximum degree duration.
Pass the Air University Admission Test (equivalent to GRE/HAT in the relevant category) with a minimum passing score of 60%, OR pass an equivalent test conducted by Air University, OR conducted by testing bodies accredited or recognized by HEC.
